"Definitives": 9 stamps featuring
Chestnut-and-black Weaver (Ploceus castaneofuscus) which may be a subspecies of
Vieillot's Black Weaver (Ploceus nigerrimus),
Military Macaw (Ara militaris),
Speckled Pigeon (Columba guinea),
Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao),
Rock Pigeon (Columba livia),
White Dove,
Northern White-faced Owl (Ptilopsis leucotis),
Hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) and
African Green-Pigeon (Treron calvus).
Although I have stopped featuring stamps that are produced by Stamperija, I decided to collect some of this set, as there is evidence that at least
one of the stamps has been
used postally.
I found a
sale on Ebay that had all the ones I needed.

suggesting that the designer thought it was a

Nature Reserves (RCC): 4 stamps, with 3 having birds that may be identifiable.
The 1.60 stamp has a bird which is fading into the distance, and is best left unidentified.
The 3.00 has a pair of probable
See-see Partridge (Ammoperdix griseogularis).
The 5.00 has
White-capped Water-redstart (Phoenicurus leucocephalus) and
a pair of small birds that could be
White-browed Tit-Warbler (Leptopoecile sophiae).
The 5.40 has a prominent raptor which could be
Eurasian Buzzard (Buteo buteo). On the same stamp, perched in a tree is a typical
Eurasian Blackbird (Turdus merula).
NB. There are no species names on the stamps, so I have chosen species listed as occurring in Tajikistan that most closely resemble the images presented.
Update:
Now that I have the stamps, a
closer view of what I thought was a Blackbird reveals that it more likely to be a
Blue Whistling-Thrush (Myophonus caeruleus).

|
Malawi Post Office Philatelic Bureau has informed me "of a new issue on 3 December 2018 (vultures of Malawi) consisting of a souvenir sheet and 5 stamps".
I await images, but the list of indigenous vultures is very similar to that of Botswana which produced a similar issue in 2015.
Update:
Commonwealth Stamps Opinion has published images of this issue.
It has been changed to "Vultures of Africa", but unfortunately seems to include at least 2 non-African species. The image of the sheet of 6 stamps is not clear to discern the names of most of the species.
The 5 single stamp miniature sheets are clearer and feature
Cinereous Vulture (Aegypius monachus),
White-backed Vulture (Gyps africanus),
White-rumped Vulture (Gyps bengalensis),
Lappet-faced Vulture (Torgos tracheliotus) and
Hooded Vulture (Necrosyrtes monachus).
The set of 6 does appear to have Lappet-faced Vulture (Torgos tracheliotus),
White-rumped Vulture (Gyps bengalensis)

Cinereous Vulture (Aegypius monachus),

I recognise
Tufted Coquette (Lophornis ornatus) and
Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris).
Update:
Checking the artist's web site, I do not think the birds are accurately illustrated. Two of the birds in this issue appear on the page of
tropical birds, the Dutch names are given as "Kolibrie blauw groen" and "Kolibrie groen roze",
which seem to be describing the colours. I was almost certain that the bottom left stamp had Tufted Coquette (Lophornis ornatus).
The tail and back patterns fit well, but the black-tipped orange feathers should be from the cheek and not the crown.

The Programme for 2018 includes "Rare Birds - Birdpex 2018" but with no further details.
Update:
I have received pre-production images of the stamps. The
Red-billed Brush-turkey (Talegalla cuvieri)*,
Meyer's Goshawk (Accipiter meyerianus),
Gurney's Eagle (Aquila gurneyi) and
Dusky Scrubfowl (Megapodius freycinet)*
{source}. The source images of the first 3 species can be found via the HBW links already given.
The souvenir sheet has 2 stamps both supposedly featuring
Chestnut-shouldered Goshawk (Erythrotriorchis buergersi).
The sheetlet has 3 stamps using the same image of the Dusky Scrubfowl, with the addition of 2 eggs, which would normally
be buried.
The Chestnut-shouldered Goshawk has rarely been photographed, so there is a strong possibility that photographs of 2 different species have been used. I shall be checking source photographs.
The species marked (*) are birds of New Guinea, but not native to PNG. The stamps were still in production at the time of this update.
Update:
The English name for the two birds on the souvenir sheet was mis-spelt as "Chestnut-shouldred Goshawk" - missing an "e", but I did not notice that the scientific name is given as
"Erythrotriorchis radiatus". Despite searching for photographs that may have been used by the designer, I could find only near matches, and all were of the Australian species
Red Goshawk (Erythrotriorchis radiatus). So perhaps the intention was to show Chestnut-shouldered, but Red was actually used.
Update:
This issue was obviously timed to coincide with Birdpex8 but missed the deadline, and after being quietly dropped from the programme, it is now available to purchase from Post PNG.

this one issued by the USSR in 1956 which appears on my page for
Rook (Corvus frugilegus). This particular stamp features

{source (similar)},
Sooty-capped Puffbird (Nystactes noanamae),
Yellow-headed Brush-finch (Atlapetes flaviceps)
{source} and
Glittering Starfrontlet (Coeligena orina),
{source}.
Update:
Unfortunately, the designer has used the wrong image to illustrate the
Santa Marta Mountain-tanager (Anisognathus melanogenys),
and has chosen one that looks most like the equally endemic
Gold-ringed Tanager (Bangsia aureocincta).
Also, the designer has used the wrong image to illustrate the
Black-and-gold Tanager (Bangsia melanochlamys),
and has chosen one that looks most like the almost endemic
Purplish-mantled Tanager (Iridosornis porphyrocephalus).
Update:
I have found several photographs on which some of the stamps are based. I found the image used for the "Perija Metaltail" by searching for images of "Metallura iracunda female", but the
photograph did not identify the bird as Metallura iracunda. However, the same image appears in
ProAves' Flicker files.
Considering the Tanager errors, it may be that the photograph does not actually show a Perija Metaltail.
Update:
I have consulted an ornithologist based in Colombia who has suggested that the
photograph could be of a young female Tyrian Metaltail (Metallura tyrianthina), which is not endemic.
However, he confirms that other photographs in ProAves's Flickr files seem to be correct.
I checked with ProAves, but had no response.
